If you find that your loved was is becoming more and more confused about time a place your experiencing another one of the signs of Alzheimer’s disease. It’s a well know fact that people with Alzheimer’s will lose track of dates, the time of year or even the simple passing of time. If you find that they have forgotten the day of the week, that’s acceptable as in most cases every day can pretty much be the same. The familiar question you may be asked by your physician is: “is she time and place oriented?” meaning is your loved one aware of where she is, the season she is in and even the part of day. If you’re finding that your loved one does not know where she is or how she got there you have cause for concern. This is also one reason why they never want to leave home. It’s familiar to them and they feel safe there. You can print out the complete list of warning signs by going to my web site at care for caregivers .org or by going to the Alzheimer’s association site at alz.org. And remember…Join the Journey.
